Points- Websites today can be so impersonal and thats something we didnt want at SkateboardSpots. We wanted to reward those who trully contribute to the community we are trying to create. That is how we stumbled upon the idea of a points system, and member levels. It brakes down like this, everything you contribute on SkateboardSpots you get credit for in the form of points.
The points are what advance you through the different Skateboard themed levels of the site. The levels provide a sort of gauging to the site, allowing you to know the amount of participation and expertise of an individual in the community. If a spot is posted by a member who is a grommit (the first level), you know this is a person who dosent have the experience posting as another member
who is say a "am". Our hope is to eventually be able to offer monthly contensts for each level of experience, but remember, this is a site began by a group of Skateboarders. There is no bloated brandname corporation behind this site, just four broke skateboarders who want to make something worthwhile on the web.

This is it, best of the best. These guys run SkateboardSpots. They have been around forever and still visit the site like it was there first time here. When you see someone this high up in the ranks, think Tony Hawk. |

Next to legends these guys have been around forever. They probbably visit the site several times a day, or never leave. These guys are truly an integral part of the SkateboardSpots community. |
| Am |
points needed: 3000 |
The bottom of the bigtime, these guys have put in the time and effort on the site. Look for many submissions from these guys. |

points needed: 2000 |
Even more experienced with SkateboardSpots, these members have plenty of points and are members who are dedicated to the site. |
| Rookie |
points needed: 1000 |
Rookies are still a little new, but by now these members have figured out how stuff works on the site. |
| Grommit |
points needed: 1 |
This is the basic, bottom level of the site. Everyone starts out here with one point. |
| Poser |
points needed: 0 |
This level is reserved for those who have done wrong to the site. You really dont want to be this. |
| Bigwig |
points needed: 0 |
This level is unobtainable by members of SkateboardSpots. This level is reserved for the creators of the site. |
| How to earn points |
| spot posting |
points recieved: 50 |
This is the main point of the site so it only make sense that it be worth the most right? Please dont try to gain points by posting bogus spots here, if you do you will lose all your points, you will recieve poser status, and the spot will be removed. |
| photo posting |
points recieved: 40 |
Second biggest gainer of points on the site, and probbably one of the more difficult to do. But it also provides one of the most entertaining areas of the site. If you need help posting a photo check out the tutorials section, or just ask for help on the board. |
| link posting |
points recieved: 20 |
The links are fun too. If you find a good skateboard news story, or just a good skateboard link in general, you should get credit for it right? Well here ya go. |
| spot comments |
points recieved: 10 |
Posting a good comment to a spot, say correcting a wrong address or terrain, will get you some points too! |
| link comments |
points recieved: 4 |
Give us a good comment to a link, I think we can round up a few points for that! |
| spot voting |
points recieved: 2 |
Voting for a spot keeps the site honest on whats a good spot and whats not. So we gotta give you something for doing it right? |
| link voting |
points recieved: 2 |
Voting on the links is almost the same as the Spots voting, it keeps the good links at the top and the mediocre down. |
| photo voting |
points recieved: 2 |
Photo voting is important because it keeps the site entertaining and shows the member who submitted the spot just exactly what everyone thinks of their frontside flip. |
| board posting |
points recieved: 1 |
Posting to the board, yep points for that too. As long as its not spam, or just plain crap. That will get you a loss of points and a poser rating. |
