Links and photos- Okay so we all know that links and photos are nothing new to the web. Infact our Links and photo sections are actually just the reworking of ideas which already exist on the web, but giving them a Skateboard twist.

The idea of the photos section came almost completley from the wildly succesful Hot or Not. Hot or Not provides an arena for people to submit there pictures to be voted on a scale of 1 to 10 by the general public. So why not have a simmilar area, but for pictures of Skateboarders? The Skateboarding community is obssesed with photos and video. So we thought we could merely expand on the idea of Hot or Not and let our members post pictures of themselves Skateboarding. This way the members of SkateboardSpots can have there spotlight on the internet, to show to there friends and family, and the community of members can view and vote, providing a form of entertainment.

The Links section of SkateboardSpots is the extension of Slashdot. Slashdot is the self proclaimed "storytelling" of the web. It has started an entire new form of website where the basic idea is that members who find an interesting link to a newsarticle, story, etc. contribute it to the Slash site for the benefit of the other members. The members can then comment on the story and begin a discussion. Making a news story an interactive experience. SkateboardSpots link section hopes to show the unique experience this model can provide, to the Skateboard community. We want to be the slash of Skateboarding, with links to Skateboard news sites and companies.
